Top Stock Movers Oct 9, 2026: WFF, ZYBT, VEEA →About the NASDAQ Gainers & Losers list
NASDAQ lists most of the large technology and biotech companies along with a long tail of small caps, and that mix shapes its movers list. The top gainers are usually small, low-float names reacting to a trial result, a contract or an earnings surprise, while the mega-caps that steer the Nasdaq 100 seldom move more than a few percent — so they show up on the most-active table rather than the gainers table.
To keep one-print spikes off the board, a gainer or loser needs at least $1 million of dollar volume and 100,000 shares traded on the day. Moves are measured from the prior close to the 4:00 p.m. ET close on consolidated volume. Warrants, units, rights, preferreds and ETFs are excluded, and so are reference-price artifacts such as an unadjusted split.
This is the closing board from the StockSetups daily scan, refreshed after each evening's scan. It covers individual NASDAQ-listed stocks, not the index — the Today page tracks the Nasdaq 100 through QQQ. For moves while the market is open, the premarket, regular-session and after-hours pages run on a 15-minute delay.
Frequently asked
What are the top NASDAQ gainers and losers today?
The NASDAQ-listed common stocks with the largest percentage gains and losses from the prior close to the latest 4:00 p.m. ET close. This page lists the top 25 each way with price, percent change and volume, limited to names with at least $1 million of dollar volume.
Which stocks are most active on the NASDAQ?
The most-active table ranks NASDAQ-listed stocks by dollar volume — price multiplied by shares traded — so it reflects where money actually traded rather than which low-priced ticker printed the most shares.
Is this the Nasdaq Composite or Nasdaq 100 index?
Neither. It ranks individual stocks listed on the NASDAQ exchange. For the index itself, the StockSetups Today page shows the Nasdaq 100's move through the QQQ ETF.
